The More Things Change, The More They Stay The Same...
I used to believe:
I Know I Knew You
Once upon a while ago.
I Think I Thought:
I know I knew I loved you
But, I then,
I now think:
I’ll never know.
When I would sleep:
I used to smile all night,
From the taste of the sweetest dreams.
I’d wake up to the sound of an accumulating past,
Rife with:
Nothing here, was there
nor never, ever as it seems.
So I watched the days fly by,
Confused by the paradox of frozen moments in time and space.
I thought:
I’ll have to run fast to catch the past,
As icicles melted into tears, streaming down my face.
I still believe in us together
(If we were even us back then)
When I still think:
I know I love you,
Like I did, I still think now:
I will always love you, again.
As I’m here wishing, that you’re sleeping
there, upon my shooting star:
That a past so dear and a future so near
Will never appear that far.
That new daylights may open your eyes
And finally you will see:
There will always already be and been
A choice to choose
To lose
ourselves in we.
